Tomorrow is the big day!! My bags are packed, once again- and leaving for my 1st chapter visit! But before I talk about tomorrow, let me tell you about this past week.
We had many SPECIAL guests come to visit us this week. Robin Fanning, our National President was able to spend lots of time training us on Risk Management and Ritual. It was a great expierience, and time to spend with her trying to soak up every bit of her Phi Mu knowledge that I could.
We also had some Consultants from last year come in and speak to us about "life on the road". On Friday we went to the Braves vs Dodgers baseball game! We were all really excited..... and then it started pouring down the rain! Thankfully the rain slowed down by the time we were done eating, and were able to find our way to our seats. Good, goodtimes!
Friday was the first time I got homesick. So weird for me! I am usually so independent and not like this at all!!! I think it all just hit me that I am not at home, or have the opportunity to go home for AWHILE. I had a temporary freak-out moment where I just wanted to cry. I held it back, and now I wish I didn't- but I'm sure it won't be the last time! Thankfully this little "episode" only lasted about 2 hours, and then I pulled myself out of it. I really have had a GREAT time at training and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, these girls I am working with. It just been 2 weeks together, but it feels like 2 years!
Beth Ward, VP of Membership on National Council (our boss) came in for the weekend and shared a wealth of knowledge, advice and expectations! She is so passionate and excited about all the great things that we ARE going to accomplish this year as a CC team! I loved the time we got to spend with her, and can't wait for our mid-semester meeting in her hometown of D.C.!!!
On Saturday night we ate at Copelands in downtown Atlanta. One word: AMAZING! (It's kind of like Cheesecake Factory)
And today was a FREE DAY!!!! Wow. I have not slept so late since I was in high school. I think I finally got myself up and moving around at 11:30am.... actually it might have been even later. I was TIRED!!!! We all got mani/pedis and relaxed most of the day. We did, however, work on Preference "stuff" after dinner--- and then Me, Christa, Jess, and Anna got our arts & crafts out and made over 100 cards to send to all of Carolina and Tulane's Greek Organizations. So, it was a very relaxing but productive day!!
I think I am ready to go for tomorrow, but of coarse I am a little nervous. Anna and I have a 4 hour trip to get to Statesboro, GA- so we will have plently of time to think and prepare on how we can best spend our time there!!
Until next week.........
