Ok, so I officially LOVE Athens, LOVE uga, and LOVE Alpha Alpha Chapter! My first expierience in Athens, was going out to eat at a local place called "The Last Resort". The President, Maeve, and Recruitment Directors, Alyssa and Ivy were so sweet, and I could tell it was going to be a good week! I was excited to meet the rest of the chapter the next morning and see what they had prepared for Recruitment!
Their house is IMMACULATE. Oh my goodness, I attached a picture of it on this blog. It was built in the 1850's--- and inside is just as gorgeous as the outside! After workshop, I had my meeting with their Chapter Adviser, Kristi- and we went to a really cool Italian place where you could create your own pasta. We had a really good conversation and threw around a lot of ideas and advice for the chapter. Very productive!
Tuesday started Round 1 of Recruitment. It was pouring down rain.... Oh boy! It was a mess, but also something to laugh about, everyone was soaked! That night I went shopping around Athens......... O.M.G.- They have the best shopping! I went into every boutique downtown, and I swear I did not leave any of them without a bag in hand! I had a great time having a little dose of "Retail therapy". That same night I went out to eat and had my meeting with the Phi Directors, Sarah and Penny. They were hilarious, and so much fun to talk to- I love having my little meetings with the girls, because I really get to know their personailities, and they realize that I am not this scary "national" person that is visiting to get them in trouble.
Wednesday was a continuation of Round 1- again, it went really smoothly- but it was also the first day for MSS, so it was a challenge and a struggle getting prepared for the big meeting. We managed to pull through, and successfully finished MSS in exactly 7 minutes! (I'll leave out the part where we wasted 2 hours prior to that 7 minutes, and 1 hour after that 7 min discussing random information) This night I went out to a restaurant called East/West Bistro- it was a really nice "fine dining" place, and again- I really enjoyed the girls I went out with- they are all so nice and accomodating. I have not encountered one bad expierience yet, I have been really lucky! I LOVE MY JOB!
Friday was my last day at Alpha Alpha, so sad!!! This was Round 2- House Tours. I'll try to attach a picture of that as well. Their interior decorating skills= A++++++!
Off to Carolina.................!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to tell you all about my apartment and show pictures!
