Friendship, Leadership, Scholarship, & Service.

I was warned that the weather in South Carolina was pretty hot--- but there was no way to be fully prepared for the heat this week! 1,023 young women started their Recruitment journey Tuesday morning at 8am. Yes, very early for girls to be smiling, chanting, singing, clapping, etc in your face! We walked from house to house all around Greek Village, seriously, all day. Talk about being sweaty... I am pretty sure there was 0% of make-up left on my face.

The first round (on Tuesday) we went to all 9 sororities, along with the PNM's.
Alpha Delta Pi
Alphi Chi Omega
Chi Omega
Delta Zeta
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Delta
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Delta Delta Delta
Zeta Tau Alpha
............ and soon to be (10) PHI MU! :-)

On Wednesday, Jessica, our Extension Director left- and our Colony Coordinator, Cassandra came! We have been full of visitors already, and loving every minute of them being here to help! Round 2 we continued to go to all 9 sororities, where as the PNM's were down to a maximum of 7 houses.

Thursday, totally random- but it was their 1st day of school. Weird, I know. So we actually got to "sleep in" and had lunch on campus to do a little PR- walked around campus and took note of the campus culture. Always observing :-) In the afternoon we went over our Colony Plan in depth and started preparing for our 1st couple of meetings!!!

Friday was Round 3, Skit Round- and it actually did not start until 4pm, so that was awesome. I love theme night, it is when the sororities really get a chance to stand out and show their personalities. Again, we went to all the houses (except 2..), where as all the PNM's were only allowed to go to a maximum 4 parties.

Today (Saturday) was Preference, but we did not observe this round. Don't worry, our day was still filled to the brim with Phi Mu! We had Advisory Council training from 9-5. However, with this crazy schedule I've got goin' on, I managed to get sick. So I took time out and went to the doctor today during lunch. No swine flu........ thank goodness! Just a sinus infection and got some antibiotics, so hopefully it helps, and helps quick!

Tomorrow is Bid Day .......... it will be interesting to see where everyone goes!
